Statement From Vocalist, Chelsea Strickland about “Scourge of Tested Flesh”
“The song itself is about the obsessive internal conflict of not existing. The unknown ...what’s to come after.. faces of death. It’s a daily thought for me. I don’t often express it. But it’s something I think about to an unhealthy extent. It literally feels like it beats me into oblivion. So I have to fight to come back to earth so to speak. Music is something that has balanced my hyper focus. It’s given me somewhere to put that energy”
lyrics
A scourge of tested Flesh
A Lunar event
Descending from the skies
At Light speed
Ploughing into rocky contour
Broken
bashed
Disfigured
I...
Become the earth
Mortality
Immanent tomb
Internal incandescence
An Intrinsic fight
A continuum of
Short
Shallow
Breaths
Claw from the dirt Descend the lines. infiltrate
splatter the dead anoint in gore.
desicrate.
I verses I till we go blind.
annihilate.
A war of self for all time.
When you go
Your surroundings continue
Change is perpetual
Claw from the dirt Descend the lines. infiltrate
splatter the dead anoint in gore.
desicrate.
I verses I till we go blind.
annihilate.
war of self....
perpetuate.
One moment of triumph
Becomes defilement in dust
Flesh incarceration
I am bound
Claw from the dirt Descend the lines. infiltrate
splatter the dead anoint in gore.
desicrate.
I verses I till we go blind.
annihilate.
A war of self for all time.
Power of pain and torture
Soul Annihilation

It's like if Suffocation had current-day Immolation production with the thick sound that's slightly round at the edges. This is high quality death metal, performed and recorded well. fyeahmetal

This album represents a HUGE step for Cattle Decapitation, musically and lyrically speaking, and it sounds way more refined than its antecessors. It's another step further on global topics, showing a lot more anger than ever. It makes you feel, not only triggered, but disturbed and kind of nihilist (if you will) by reality at the same time.
This might be an obvious choice, but Forced Gender Reassignment has, not only one of the most sensitive topics of the album, but the catchiest riffs. Tech7Fold
